This is one of my favorite paintings! I was in Santa Fe one weekday when I came across this band of musicians playing in the plaza, dressed in these very elaborate, colorful costumes. There was no apparent reason for their celebration, but I was very grateful I could capture it. This was meant to be a series, but instead, this is just one of a pair. This is a fun piece for people to be able to make up stories about.
